I wanted a bowl of phở for lunch today, and yet I didn't have time to go all the way out to Joo Chiat. Nor did I want to eat at many of the nasty places near the office. So I hopped on over to Chinatown Point instead, as I've been meaning to try this place for a while (133 New Bridge Road #B1-33, 6444-3579).
The good thing was that it was better than I thought it would be, with a respectable (non-sweet) broth. But I didn't care for the noodles, and the gỏi cuốn were a disappointingly far cry from Phở Nam Sơn. Well, if I come back, then it might be to try the bánh xèo and bánh mì instead. I suspect those might have some potential.
