Bún Chả from Hà Nội Vietnamese Restaurant, 100AM
That was disappointing. See, a thought occurred to me the other day: if Hanoi Restaurant was so far the only place that did chả cá lã vọng with bubbling oil, then maybe they could do a half-decent job other North Vietnamese dishes too. So I came here on the hunt for bún chả, and fortunately, it was one of the lunch specials.
Or rather, it was *unfortunate* that it was one of the lunch specials. When they brought out this plate of lukewarm food, it was obvious that it had been prepared in advance, sitting in a tray for fast serving during the busy lunch hour. There were none of the wonderful aromatics that makes this thing normally such a delight to eat. Oh well.
