Teppan Itameshi from Kagetsu

Teppan Itameshi

I think this is one of the few items remaining on the menu at Kagetsu that I hadn't tried yet, so I got this rice platter today out of curiosity. When it arrived, the first thought that came to mind was that this was looked like the sizzling rice at Pepper Lunch. The taste was a bit different though, as this was more salty than buttery. Still, it had formed a deliciously crispy layer of scorched rice underneath, and I loved the little bowl of peppery soup that they brought out alongside it. The broth here is really one of the reasons why I like this place so much.
