Admittedly, I only went to this stall (7 Maxwell Road #02-98) because of some cheeky signage that was put up along the walkway to the hawker center. They served
local beef noodles that were allegdly based on a famous 100 year old recipe, but some of the configurations seemed more contemporary. That bowl above, for instance, didn't feature the usual brown sauce, and instead used that sour chili sauce instead. Well, frankly that is
the way that I prefer such bowls anyway, and I liked the anise and soy sauce-centric broth too. The beef quality wasn't great, but maybe that's because I ordered the cheapest bowl.
