The last time I was in Istanbul was so long ago that I went through the old airport. This new airport is gigantic, and the Turkish Airlines lounge was even nicer than I was told it would be. There was tons of local food, including batches of those round simit sesame bread things straight out of the oven. There was a countryside butter from northeastern Turkey available, not to mention a huge array of olives, cheese, and vegetables, plus beverages like ayran and kefir. They had a separate lounge for business class by the way; I can only wonder what that one was like.
