
Peruvian food wasn't exactly high on my list of things to eat here in North Carolina. But this small chain only has outlets in the state at the moment, and there was one conveniently nearby tonight.
It was better than I expected, with not just the nicely seasoned chicken, but also things like their "green sauce" and "yellow sauce," the former of which had a spicy kick to it while the latter was more like a mustard mixture.
I haven't been to El Pollo Rico enough to make a proper comparison, but I have a good impression of this place, especially with those plantain-based tostones being piping hot from the fryer tonight.
