I
went back for the
suancaiyu today. It was almost twice as expensive as everything else, despite being basically the same size serving. Yet I slurped it all up easily, as it was refreshingly sour and spicy without being overpowering in either direction, all while being filled with fresh fish and slices of pickled veggies. It wasn't anywhere as sophisticated as
Tai Er, but it was good enough for me, especially since it even came with the pleasant surprise of some flat rice noodles at the bottom.
