The Bò Tái Chanh from Long Phung Vietnamese Cuisine

Bò tái chanh

I came here today because I kept seeing a photo of this dish on the window at Long Phung's new Chinatown location (239 New Bridge Road). I figured that it would be like a Thai larb, but it turned out to be quite different, not only in that it was served warm instead of cold, but also in that it was sweet rather than spicy. Also, this thing was drowning in onions, which wasn't how it was depicted on the menu. Still, that salty dark crab sauce on the side gave it a bit of a kick, and I ultimately gobbled it all down quickly, especially with those fresh green herbs. I'm not sure if I'll get it again though.
