I finally made it back to
Qianzhuang at 313 today, this time ordering not just their lamb bowl, but also those cold skewers above. And they were pretty good, sitting in that earthy spicy sauce. My noodles carried a musty scent of lamb, but that's precisely why I liked it. It's also interesting that they now have signage explaining those jars of smoky chili flakes on each table, calling it their "signature firewood chili powder" that one is supposed to add halfway through the bowl so that a "completely new flavor is unlocked for you to enjoy." I do enjoy it indeed.
