Chao Niu is a Chaoshan-style hot pot restaurant that I've been curious about, but never made the effort to go to. Now they have a casual noodle stall at Icon Village Altez (16 Enggor Street #01-13, 6980-7866). From what I could see, they were effectively selling pre-configured single-serving bowls of their hotpot ingredients.
The items in the bowl were pretty good, be it the firm meatballs, bouncy noodles, or tender meat. The broth was dark though, like what one would get a places like Hock Lam. I'm not sure if they did that to appeal to the local palate, but it had had a nice finish to it, so I wouldn't mind eating it again.
