Here is a wood-clad oyster place (920 El Camino Real, 650-394-4534) where I was able to pull up a seat at the bar for a dozen local
oysters and beer. Actually, only the briny Kumamotos at the top were local; the meaty Fanny Bays from
BC were next to them while the earthy Kumiais from
Baja were at the bottom. My favorite were the least local ones: the BeauSoleils from New Brunswick on the left, as they were almost buttery sweet. But I was happy to gobble them all down. Next time I should try their
grilled oysters.

If you ever see Valentine oysters from BC, highly recommend getting them. They're my favorite in the whole wide world and I've sampled over a hundred oyster varieties.
