Soup Spoon's Soul-Good Barramundi Stew Teochew Style
I generally don't like the Soup Spoon, but every once in a while they have a special that looks kinda interesting. And for Singapore's 56th birthday, they are doing a limited edition Red Dot Series of several soups, one of which is that that Teochew-style barramundi stew in the upper left corner. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, especially with its very potent pickled veggies, giving it a sour and salty edge. Perhaps even better was that ginger scallion oil red rice in the center, as it had quite a kick of ginger. That lame bread roll on the side though? Didn't even touch it.
