Kwang Kee Teochew Fish Porridge at Newton Food Centre
That probably doesn't look like much above, but they just got their new Michelin Bib Gourmand designation last week, and it was indeed pretty good (500 Clemenceau Avenue North #01-20). The quality of the ingredients was the key, including not just the firm and fresh fish slices, but also the broth, which was very balanced and deliciously savory. It reminded me a bit of my favorite Hock Heng when they were still around, except these guys were much more purist without all of the extra garnish, and yet the broth was still deliciously crisp. Next time I'll have to try the fried fish bee hoon.
