Trying Out Koushin Daikon from Japan

Koushin Daikon

I saw this at Don Don Donki and thought it would be interesting to try. It's daikon, but it's spherical with a pink center. It was mildly sweet and not as pungent as normal white daikon. I basically ate them in raw slices, as they made for a pleasant palate cleanser.

Just a random hello from a returning long time fan - i chanced upon your blog when i was a student (i.e. around 15 years ago), at a time when the food scene in singapore was arguably less tacky and gimmicky. one of your first recommendations that i acted on was Miharu, back when it was at Gallery Hotel, and it sure was a life changing experience (as a poor student, i had to save up my allowance to eat there), and it was my go-to place for first dates once upon a time.

followed your blog religiously until also, the rise of food blogs as slideshows and photography showcases, youtube has exploded along with google's valuation...then kinda dropped off the readership for a while.

also, Miharu has since moved (twice iirc), standards have been a bit iffy, and a thousand other ramen stalls have opened and closed in singapore, but a large part of me is glad your blog remains the same (along with your anonymity), and i'm going through like years of your archives now to see what i've missed out on all this while.

keep doing what you do!

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, my readership is much lower than before now.
