I splurged today and went for the most expensive bowl at Wah Kee's Pek Kio stall today, coming in at literally five times the price of their cheapest bowl. In exchange, one got three super big and fresh prawns, not to mention a rare smile from the proprietor and even a free pack of tissues. The prawns were the best part of it all, as they were firm and naturally sweet like lobster tails, and in fact easier to eat than I thought they would be. But the broth wasn't as robust as I'd hoped, even if the tinge of spiciness was a nice touch. The noodles were a bit of a bore too, despite the greens and generous amount of crackling in there.
