Pasta Bar on Keong Saik Road, Singapore
I've wanted to go to this handmade pasta place (55 Keong Saik Road, 6222-0627) for a long time. But when I first looked into it, it looked like it was both expensive and open only for dinner (the closest I could get was their sister shop, bar Milano, by ordering their cheap breakfast pizza). Yet at some point they started to open for lunch, and we were able to snag a pair of counter seats for a late lunch today.
Yes, it was good. The dough on the tortelli above was nice and firm, enveloping a velvelty smooth pumpkin filling, all while being coated in butter and sage. We were also very happy with a wide lagane pasta done with chickpeas and chili peppers, as well as a cannolo to close. It was still pretty darned expensive (especially after factoring in drinks), but the quality was also up there with it.
