Tung Lok Group's Duckland at United Square, Singapore
This is an odd place (101 Thomson Road #B1-09, 6259-5668). Ostensibly on the outside, it's an Irish place, with its green and white decor, Guinness and whiskey signage, and a clover logo with a "hand-reared with care in Ireland" tagline. But this is from the Tung Lok folks, and inside there is a glass case with roast carcasses hanging behind it, Cantonese style.
Yep, this place is inspired by those Chinese places in London who source their ducks from Irish farms. They seemed to take a lot of pride in their use of Silver Hill Ducks.
I thus went for this duck set, which ended up being a letdown, as I couldn't even taste the duck when it was covered in that sweet sauce. It came with some kind of a duck broth that sounded really promising too, but it didn't taste like duck either, as the tomato base covered it all up. Maybe one day I should come back to try their stew and colcannon instead.
