L'Operetta Corner Bar on Boon Tat Street, Singapore
Speaking of affordable yet quality pasta places, here is another one that has been around for a while (7 Boon Tat Street, 9127-4611). Presumably the L'Operetta folks took over from Osvaldo Forlino's No Menu team, although I'm not sure if the chef and/or menu was part of the deal. Either way, that penne chicken and mushroom aglio olio above was both one of the cheapest items on the menu and tastier ones, as they did the garlic just right. Sure, all of the plates that I've had here have been under-seasoned, but there are salt shakers on each table, so it's easy enough to fix. Note to self: dinner prices are more expensive, so come at lunch time instead when prices tend to stay under the S$20 (US$15) mark.

Hi, has No Menu closed down?
The main restaurant is still there. This was just the open air bar down the street.
Oh I see. Thanks for the info!
