Yoshinoya Singapore's Mt Fuji Yougan Yaki
Yoshinoya Singapore has moved its 313@Somerset store up to the Food Republic up on the top floor. And in the process, the menu got revamped. The classic beef bowl is still there of course, but is buried at the end. Instead, they're emphasizing hot plates, as if they were trying to go up against Pepper Lunch or something.
Too bad then that the hot plates weren't any good...or at least, not this chicken one with a salt sauce. Not only was it a bit pointless to shield the chicken from the hot plate with a layer of cabbage and tofu, but the sauce was mildly sweet (I was expecting something more fragrant, like in yamitsuki kyabetsu).
I'll come back to give their pepper sauce and hot pots a try, but I'm not getting my hopes up. At least this is better than all of that deep fried stuff with mayo that they sell at their other stores. I also like how some of their upscale concept stores offer simple tamago kake gohan for breakfast now, but they generally don't open until 10 AM??
