Returning to Bodega 1900 in Barcelona

Fungus and Egg

I was sooooo happy when our gracious hosts told us that dinner was going to be at Bodega 1900. It was just as good as I remembered it, with a brown crab salad in particular being so good that I could've licked the plate, if only it weren't considered rude. I was very happy with a plate of smoky mackerel as well as razor clams, red shrimp, and assortment of cured meats. But my favorite of them all had to be that runny egg and fungal concoction above. I don't even remember what it was called, but I liked it for the same reason that makes the baby squid at El Quim so good: it's just simple and savory.
