Bar La Plata in Barcelona, Spain

Boquerones

Here was another Eater 38 shop that just happened to be on my way back to the hotel (28 Carrer de la Mercè, 933-151009). It was a tiny place, and they only serve a handful of dishes. But these fried anchovies were supposed to be the thing to get, and indeed they were deliciously salty, airy, and crispy, and were also very affordable too. Yep, this is my kind of place: wine is poured from a barrel into shot glasses. I was in and out of there in 15 minutes, and my wallet was only €6 (US$7) lighter for that plate above and two drinks.
