The Isaki Yaki at Ootoya Singapore

Isaki Yaki

Ootoya has these little single-serving grunt fish on its list of imported specials right now, and I'm happy that I got one. The flesh itself was rather delicate and mild, and more importantly, they grilled it just right so that the thin layer of fat underneath the crispy skin was wonderful when intertwined the occasional grain of salt. I also love how creamy the hiyayakko is here (seriously, I suspect people would mistake it for dairy if no one had told them that it was tofu). Granted, the prices added up a bit, but I keep forgetting about what nice things Ootoya has to offer, and need to remember to come back more often.
