Gyu Nami at Amoy Street Food Centre, Singapore
Somehow the thought of roast beef sounded good for lunch today, so I made my way over here (7 Maxwell Road #02-126). This stall only serves one thing: a S$10 (US$7.40) wagyu roast beef donburi. They slowly sliced their beef to order, which meant that there was already a line for this place even though it was only 11:40 AM.
Well, the beef was tender but lean, and thus without much taste. The sauce was delicate but sweet and also not salty enough. Thus, I'm not going to wait in line for this again. But it did make me think about Hokkaido Izakaya's rendition of this. Maybe I should go there tomorrow for a comparison while this place is still fresh in my mind.
