On a completely random visit to
Tomi Sushi, I noticed something called
tochioage on the menu. What the heck was it? It was a dish from Tomi's origins in Niigata featuring deep fried tofu, and in this case, with
natto shoved inside. That's exactly how it tasted, and I liked it, especially since they kept it unseasoned, garnishing it only with a wad of grated ginger. It's a good thing that our office is shut down for the holidays this week, as now I have major dragon breath from those raw green onions in there.
