Local Goat's Milk from Hay Dairies in Singapore
On a completely random spur-of-the-moment move, we swung out to Lim Chu Kang where Singapore has its own goat farm (3 Lim Chu Kang Lane 4, 6792-0931). One could buy a bag of hay to feed the goats with, as well as buy the milk itself, including strawberry and chocolate variants.
I thought that the milk was going to have a strong goat cheese-like taste, but instead it was a lot like cow's milk, and a slightly rich one at that. Only at the tail end of each gulp was there a hint of that barnyard-ish scent, but it was extremely faint. And yes, I liked this place much more than Farmart Centre.
Epilogue: I just had some of the same Hay Dairies goat's milk again but purchased from a store, and this time, the goat taste was much stronger. I wonder if that taste builds up with age or something (whereas it's not as obvious when it's fresh from the farm?).
