An Ice Ball in Penang, Malaysia

Ice Ball

So I guess ice balls are a thing here in Penang. I had no idea what it was, but it turned out to be like a snow cone, complete with a sweet syrup that gets drizzled onto it. One thing is different though: it's completely spherical, made by mashing two hemispheres together after forming each half in a rice bowl. And then it's served to you on a flat tray with a couple of bamboo skewers shoved into it. Yes, that made it a bit messy to eat, but nonetheless was a welcome relief from the daytime heat here.
