J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff at Amoy Street Food Centre
It may be hard to make out from the picture, but damn, were these things good! I came to this curry puff stall (7 Maxwell Road #01-21) after hearing that it was a Bib Gourmand winner. And having tasting it now, I'm pretty sure I understand what got the Michelin inspectors so excited: that wonderfully flaky (and presumably pork lard-fueled) crust, kinda like Tai Cheong Bakery's egg tarts. The fillings weren't too bad either, particularly the surprisingly spicy black pepper one. Seriously, this totally beats the pants off of Old Chang Kee. I should go back to Killiney Curry Puff to do a comparison though.
