I was invited out to a local Cantonese dinner tonight, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be (can't read the address but phone number for this shop in Futian seems to be 2398- 9133). See, it wasn't the usual Cantonese fare that I think of
from Hong Kong, but instead was largely stuff that I'd never eaten before, including some kind of delicious little salt-baked sea snails, if I got it correctly. Other highlights included some huge
zhongzi rice dumplings for carbs as well as a very fragrant portion of veggies flash fried in a clay pot with garlic, pork fat, and oil. I was told that this is similar to food in Guangzhou; if so, then I'd kinda be interested to visit one day.
