I told you that I'd come back for this. And I'm actually kinda glad that I did, as that generous bouquet of onions garnishing that bowl came dusted with a bit of pepper, making my first few bites into this thing fun to eat. I ate it all pretty quickly, even if the meat was tough and the broth a bit sweet (a few dashes of fish sauce gave it the stank to get me through it). I won't get cravings for this, but at least it was much better than
their bánh mì and bánh xèo.
