This is not exactly the kind of place that I would usually go to. But I missed lunch today and needed something quick that was still open in the afternoon, and this place was nearby (409 South 2nd Street, 408-295-2125). What's interesting is that it really was just your typical
American Chinese place, featuring classics like egg rolls and fried rice, whereas the Vietnamese section was limited to just three dishes, with this
bún bò xào being one of them. It was better than I thought it would be, with very tender beef that went well with the rice noodles. But I was still kinda hoping for a piping hot bowl of
phở instead.
