Hong Fu Restaurant in Cupertino, California
These guys have been around for ages (20588 Stevens Creek Boulevard, 252-2200). Based on appearances alone, it seems like most "Chinese" restaurants in the US, with the same kind of decor, menus, and fortune cookies. But beneath all of that actually lie some surprisingly good dishes, like this "Szechuan Stir Fried Pork." No, it doesn't look that great in the photo, and I suspect there really isn't anything like it in Sichuan either (especially given the sliced jalapenos in this thing). But this greasy spicy salty concoction is perfect for wolfing down with steamed rice...I can inhale this stuff in seconds.
