I wasn't hungry enough to eat another one of those
bara chirashi, but the thought of some sushi still sounded good. So I figured that I'd order a la carte pieces of
nigiri this time, zooming in on some
uni and
chutoro first, and then basically asking the sushi chef what he recommended, which at first was a cut of
kinmedai.
I was so happy with the richness of the
uni that I kept ordering other things, including a bunch of different kinds of clams given how those
almejas from Mexico were still fresh in my mind. In the end, I left satisfied, but the bill ended up being twice as much as if I had gotten the
bara chirashi. So much for just getting a few small pieces!
