The Jackson Plan, Duxton Hill

Crab Cakes, Quail Eggs, Anchovy Cream

We weren't planning to come here for lunch today...at least, not specifically this place. We just knew that there were a bunch of new restaurants up on Duxton Hill and finally ended up here (40 Duxton Hill, 6866-1988), which served a variety of British food ranging from fish and chips to Lancashire hot pot...or those simple crab cakes above.

Yes, I liked the food. Some of the amusement was simply in deciphering the meaning behind all of those English names: cullen skink, Eton mess, and bubble and squeak (I guess I can add these to my collection along with spotted dick). But this place was pretty darned pricey too, thus keeping me from making this place a regular haunt.
