Yep - I'm at it again with pricey Japanese fruits. This time, we're looking at a S$12.50 (US$8.30) orange that looks like it has some kind of deformity...or maybe a navel orange but with an outie instead of an innie. Actually, it did kinda seem like a navel orange given how it was seedless, thick-skinned, and easy to peel. But this was super tart and juicy all the way through, instantly making it one of my favorites. I could easily gobble up several of these in one sitting...as long as someone else is paying for them of course.

Believe it or not, I actually saw cheaper versions of this (don't think it's authentic) in Giant supermarket.
Of course, this would be like comparing mandarin oranges with Japanese mikan, but they are pretty good substitutes.

ok, If no one else will say it, it looks like as cervex. No so bad actually, cause the fruit is behind it. like most fruit or vegtables. Like all of us were. Sorry to be crude. It is spring here,the pear trees are in flower and most people are thinking of the vegtables to plant. (and hoping the apple, peach and cherry tress are not killed by late frost).
I guess I meant to say that every good fruit is a gift from
God, and he somtimes reminds us of that. Some dafodills I planted years ago are up and blooming, as is a pear tree. Peaches and water melons don't do well here, (too short a growing season, or too high an elevation), yet I planted a magnolia tree tree last fall, and against all odds it is well. Now I am picking which melons ( sugar baby- 85 days ) to plant this spring. (Hope springs eternal you know.) Did not mean to offend any one. I just like springtime. Tom
HB - The best overpriced Japanese produce are those gosh dang Kyoho grapes. They run like SGD10 for a little foam container of them but they taste like heaven. I saw them around when I first moved here - July/August time.
I love these. Im in Korea and my local supermarket has some medium sized ones for $2 u.s. each. Theyre soooooooo freakin good.
