Katsu Kare from Romankan

Katsu Kare

We popped on back down to Romankan tonight to check out their full-blown tonkatsu dishes, and unfortunately it was a huge letdown. The katsu kare that I got was rather dry, tasteless, and of generally poor quality meat. And the curry was just atrocious; it was more like turkey gravy than curry. Ugh. I didn't even want to finish my meal.

Sorry, there's no return visit on this one. This plate was S$14 (US$8.25); I'd much rather pay just S$4 (US$2.35) more to go to Tonkichi and get the real deal instead.

  1. Wow dude, that place must be bad if you actually contemplated not finishing it. You're like Mikey!

  2. Try "Curry Favor" at Stamford House instead; they specialise in Japanese curry.

  3. Nah, I'm not a big fan of that place either (although their curry certainly is better than this place). We had a discussion about them here.

  4. yea, this place is more than forgettable, I'd go to the omuraisu or udon place... and tonkichi is decent, but Maisen is still way, way better. :(
