Mandi Hadramot Restaurant in Penang, Malaysia
I was still pretty hungry after that dinner tonight. So I came to this Yemeni place (1-394B Lot 333 Mk 7, +60-4-8813376), especially since I recall passing by one of its outlets in Kuala Lumpur. Despite the signage and menu suggestions to get the mandi chicken, I made sure to get the mazbi instead. And they got it just right, including not just the smoky salty chicken itself, but the fluffy rice and most importantly, that spicy salsa-like sauce that accompanied it. I seem to recall this being better than the one at Marhaba, in fact. Seriously, why isn't mazbi chicken not better known throughout the world?? This stuff is awesome.
