
That probably looks a bit hideous in the photo, but it was just a dark chocolate mole sauce on top if it helps put it in a different perspective. See, I finally made it back to El Tule today to try their weekend-only street food menu, and this tamale was one of them. Now, I didn't quite go nuts for it (nor the tostada de tinga that I got along with it), but I also suspect that it is because my expectations were way too high. The best thing that I got was probably the thick champurrado drink. Either way, I must go to Oaxaca one of these days; I hope that there are more non-stop flights starting up there soon.
