E!GHT Korean BBQ at the Central

Pork Chul Pan

This thing looked a lot better when they first brought it out, piled up high with different layers of meat and veggies (a bit like that Japanese one at Kinoshita the other day). But the server was so eager to quickly start cooking it that by the time I got around to taking a picture, it looked like this.

Anyway, this was from some Korean place at the Central (6 Eu Tong Sen Street #02-79, 6222-2159), and they only serve this chul pan thing for lunch. It was kinda sweet - not annoyingly so, but sweet enough that I won't make any huge effort to get it again.

Still, it was cool to be able to find some of that smoked Schlenkerla Rauchbier from Germany. And that eight flavors of pork dinner sounded interesting too. Presumably it is inspired by Palsaik in LA? I'll have to go hunt it down next time I'm there.
