It may be a bit hard to make out in the photo above, but there are *two* sambals there, with not just the shallot-based
matah in the white plastic saucer, but also a layer of
setan spread on top of the chicken too. These were the two spiciest options at this
ayam geprek shop (14 Scotts Road #05-99). The sambal selection as well as the peppery MSG-heavy soup made everything fun to eat, even if the chicken was a bit dry. I wonder how their
gado-gado and
bihun bakso taste.
