King Octopus at Chatuchak Night Market Singapore

A Set of Baby Octopus Fried

There's a small rendition of Bangkok's Chatuchak Market running for a few months at The Grandstand right now (look for the colorful canopies toward the southern end of the site). Most of the stalls are serving Thai food, and also seem to be local. This one, on the other hand, is allegedly from the real Chatuchak, even if I couldn't find anything online under the King Octopus name.

Anyway, that little bowl above featured firm cuts of baby octopus in a spicy tangy sauce. It was punchier than I thought it would be, but not cheap at S$13 (US$9) either. Moreover, was it really fried like the sign said? I saw the lady taking the squid out of a boiling pot, and can't help but wonder how much more interesting this would've been had it been fried or grilled instead.
