So it turns out that I'm in Valencia in the run-up to Las Fallas, a local festival involving firecrackers, ornate costumes, and huge
papier-mâché figures that ultimately get burned to the ground. And part of that festival includes the set up of these stands selling not just
churros, but also
buñuelos, which are round and made with pumpkin. I grabbed one to try, and it's pretty much what you'd expect of a deep fried piece of dough with sugar, albeit chewier. In retrospect, I should've gotten some
chocolate to dip it into though.
