Ken Mochiya in Taipei, Taiwan
The local team brought me to this place at Mitsukoshi A4 (19 Songgao Road 5/F, 2723-3803). It was a Japanese place, but apparently one of the four best places in town that specialized in anago (and apparently a lot of Taiwanese eels are exported to Japan anyway). Yeah, I liked it. Everything (including the eel as well as some salmon and chicken in our set) was leaner than I was hoping for, but for a fast lunch that was good enough. One interesting local item on the menu, BTW, was a chicken foot, but done up in a spicy Taiwanese style rather than the blander Cantonese version.
