I've definitely stepped foot in this place before, perhaps to order something to-go many years ago. But I don't think I've ever eaten here until today (80 Pagoda Street, 6222-6858). We grabbed a number of the usual Sichuan favorites, including an interesting chilled variant of
mala xiao longxia. Most of it went down the hatch easily, although there were a few oddities, including the presence of local chili padi in a few dishes, as well as the skewers above, which weren't exactly the
chuanr that I was expecting. Instead, these were made with tenderized meat that were seemingly fried rather than grilled, and lacking that lovely sprinkling of cumin that usually covers these things. Oh well.
