Steamed Clams from The Fish Market in California
One of my former colleagues used to tell me how much she hated The Fish Market, and yet I was always perplexed since I liked going there. It was only tonight that I was able to figure out why: basically, one must stick to the basics. I've always ordered simple things like those clams above or my usual shrimp with bacon. But once you start to deviate from that and go for something even just slightly more complicated, it just gets kinda nasty (think: overcooked pasta - ugh!). Well, I'm still coming here. Frankly, I would have been completely satisfied with nothing more than that awesome Boudin sourdough and butter, washed down with an Anchor Steam or two.
