Here were a bunch of different brands of Indian beer that I saw at a supermarket in Singapore today. This wasn't exactly
Kingfisher...many of these appeared to be malt liquor-like, with some labels that went so far as to proclaim that they were made for men. I didn't actually try these though. Just as I started to grab a couple bottles to bring to the checkout counter, flashbacks of that nasty stuff I tried
last month came screaming back to me, prompting me to reconsider.

Now I'm curious to try one... what store was this?
I used to work as a desk manager for some great east Indian people in western NC. They owned several other motels under differnent flags, from Charlotte, NC, to Myrtle Beach, SC, to Harrisburg Pa. Unlike many motel owners, they always treated their employees with dignity and respect. While working there I read the John Irving book called "son of the circus" which is set primariy in India and Canada, and it mentioned Kingfisher ale. I was wondering, What is it like?, an IPA or just a light lager? Surely not a stout. Anyway, that was, some years ago, thanks for bringing back pleasant memories

The store was Sheng Siong. And Kingfisher is a lager.
