"Chicken" on Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui
This was a pleasant surprise. How many times have you walked on the jetway to board, and just before reaching the plane, you said, "that smells good!" (No, it wasn't the jet fuel, thank you.) Once airborne, we were asked the quintessential airline question, "chicken or fish?" I didn't know which one it was that we smelled back on the jetway, but I figured, what the heck, it's a 50-50 chance. I opted for the chicken.
Correct choice. This was pretty tasty. Featuring a solid chunk of chicken, this had just the right combination of spices without being annoyingly dominating nor with any pre-fabricated aftertaste. The dessert was pleasantly surprising with just the right touch of almond flavor and the right texture to boot. Wow. I wasn't even expecting food on this short little Boeing 717 flight, let alone a good one. What a nice way to kick off the weekend.
