Carnivore Churrascaria

Carnivore ChurrascariaI love churrasco, and I had been wanting to come here for a very long time now but never really had the chance to until today (Chijmes #01-29A, 6334-9332). Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. While the service was friendly and prompt (and the caipirinhas were decent), nothing really stood out about the meat. None of it was overcooked or anything, but none of it really made a good impression either. I was pretty bummed. The feijoada here was probably decently authentic thanks to their pig's feet (I wouldn't know for sure considering that I've never been to Brazil before), but I felt that it just didn't have the rich flavor that I was looking for.

In the end, this place just left me stuffed but unsatisfied, which is not a good feeling (what a waste of ingested calories). In fact, they even gave a feedback form at the end of the meal - I could check "excellent" everything (service, promptness, etc.) with the one exception of the food. I still prefer the quality of the meat at Mamma Lucia instead (but avoid their pasta). Well, the next time I crave churrasco, I know that I'll be headed there instead.

Try Samba Brazilian Churrascaria at Big Splash in East Coast Park. Its just beside the The Seafood International Market & Restaurant you reviewed before.

Cheaper and better than Carnivore and Mama Lucia. Beef ribs, beef hump and rump are to die for!

you should actually visit Brazil Churrascaria at Sixth Avenue in Bukit Timah. They are so popular that it's usually necessary to make phone reservations. You'll relish the various meats they serve there.

Thanks. Yes, I've been to Brazil Churrascaria on 6th Avenue, but my last experience with the meat at Mamma Lucia was better, not only in terms of the meat quality, but also in terms of the preparation and seasonings that they used. The sides were also better in my opinion, although I sure liked Brazil Churrascaria's beans.

I still haven't been to Samba yet though (admittedly I hesitate when thinking of going to Big Splash to eat, just like I did with The Seafood International Market & Restaurant). But I believe that Samba procures from Espirito Santo, which I've tried first hand, so I will try heading there one of these days.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Keep 'em coming! :)

so where is this Mamma Lucia Churrascaria? I didn't find the address on your earlier blog about it. Thanks!

It's at Robertson Walk, just a few doors down from their Italian joint.
