Bakerzin from Daniel Tay

Warm Chocolate Cake

Bakerzin (Baker's Inn) is a chain across the island serving desserts as well as some hot dishes like pasta. Apparently Mr. Tay studied pastry making in France for some time, and has won several awards in Singapore. I'm not a huge dessert person though, so I didn't really eat anything here, but the pastries sure looked nice in the glass casing.

The one thing we did get is the warm chocolate cake, which wasn't bad in and of itself, but I still like Morton's Godiva chocolate cake better (it has a crunchier exterior and a richer chocolate flavor without any of that fruitcake or nutty taste that Bakerzin includes). The service at the Millenia Walk location today was also rather inattentive (we asked for our check three times before giving up and walking up to the cashier instead). But hey - you get what you pay for, and this place is certainly much kinder to the pocketbook than Morton's is.
