Ayam Cabe Hijau from Dapur Penyet in Singapore

Ayam Cabe Hijau Set

It might be a bit hard to make out in that photo above, but there's chicken underneath that dark green blob on the right. See, this was from an Indonesian ayam penyet stall, and they had a version that was smothered in a green chili sauce. And what a delicious chicken it was! It wasn't just because it was pleasantly spicy enough to leave you with a residual burn, but also because of the unbattered chicken, which was tender with just the right amount of fat and skin. It was so good that I nearly went back for seconds.
