Yomoda Soba at Japan Food Town in Singapore

Pirikara Tonyu Niwatori Soba

Of all of the places at Wisma Atria's Japan Food Town, this one (4345 Orchard Road #04-53, 6262-3467) has consistently had some of the longest lines aside from the sushi shop on the other end. Sure, that might just be a function of the fact that they only seem to have seats for about 25 people, but either way, I wasn't willing to wait on previous visits. Fortunately, there was no line after 1PM today and I breezed right in. There were a lot of things on the menu that looked interesting.

I settled on this one featuring soybean milk from Japan. Visually, it looks like a salty doujiang that you might get from Taiwan. But it didn't taste anything like that given its Japanese rayu and firm noodles underneath. Yeah, it was pretty good, and all with the added bonus of keeping the negi to the side (helpful if you have meetings later in the day!). I do indeed want to come back here to try that yuba or tomato and yuzu soba, not to mention the sanuki udon that they apparently slice into thin soba-like cuts.
